Island Dance Studio:

I consider myself to be extremely lucky working at Island Dance Studio, where professionalism, discipline and creativity made every single day productive and enjoyable.

The Founder and Artistic Director Christine Richardson has trained quite a few professional dancers who have been accepted to professional ballet companies around the world; always keeping in touch with their first teacher. Pictured on the right is Christine Richardson, Rosalind Black and myself.

Students of Island Dance have always been involved in major ballet events like Master Classes with Evelyn Hart, Karen Kain… etc. and I was happy to play for them.

Rosalind Black (pictured to the left) came to Canada from South Africa and works with the beginners: this can be quite challenging as she has to jump and skip and run with them and do all the “crazy” stuff imaginable.

Clarisse and Kathleen Bourne began at the studio when they were six or seven years old, and under Christine’s strict supervision they excelled in their work ethic. Now they are accepted into The National Ballet School
